The WP school building in Wauneta is in the middle of a construction project. Additionally, the intersection on the northeast corner of the school is under construction and temporarily closed.   This map shows the best route for spectators to use to get to the school and park for football and volleyball games. Students at Wauneta-Palisade Schools have met our Spring NSCAS and MAP goals!   Students and teachers set individual and class goals for our NSCAS (Nebraska Student-Centered Assessment System) and MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing, and we achieved the marks we set for ourselves, earning Friday, May 12 off from school.    There will be no school for students on Friday, May 12, 2023.

Wauneta-Palisade Basketball to Play in Cattletrail Tournament 2022

On Tuesday, 12/6, WP HS Girls play Decatur Community at McCook HS at 6:30 CT, boys play Hitchcock at 8 CT in the High School.  Games will be on 103.9. On Friday, 12/9, WP HS Girls play at 3:30 CT and boys at 5 CT, opponents TBD.  Student-athletes will be dismissed during lunch and the bus will leave at 12:30 MT. 2020 Teen Tractor Safety Training

All youth aged 14 and 15 who work on a farm or ranch other than their own MUST be certified through a Hazardous Occupations Course to obtain a Farm Husbandry Permit or "farm permit" without further testing.  Successful completion of the course will allow trained youth to operate a tractor over 20 horsepower, and connect or disconnect an implement or any of its part to or from a tractor.  There will be a training in North Platte at the West Central Research & Extention Center on June 11 and 12, 2020. . . .

The Leaders in Training (LIT) program is hosting a camp experience for teens aged 14-18 at the State 4-H Camp at Halsey, Nebraska this summer! 5th & 6th Grade to Sing National Anthem

The 5th & 6th graders will be singing the National Anthem at the high school basketball games on February 10. The games start at 3MT/4 CT, but they will not be singing until right before the girls' varsity game. Students are asked to be at the school in Wauneta no later than 5MT/6 CT. We will warm up in the music room at the end of the jv games. The Omaha Storm Chasers and Nebraska State Treasurer Don Stenberg are sponsoring the 15th annual "Why I Want to Go to College" writing contest. WP 4th graders to take NAEP Assessment

Early Outs Scheduled for Wauneta Power Outages

Due to scheduled power outages in Wauneta, WP Schools in both Wauneta and Palisade will have early outs on Thursday October 20 and Friday October 28. School will be dismissed at 1:06MT/2:06CT on both days. A shortened day scheduled will be adopted for the 7-12th grade classes. Buses will run accordingly. There will be no afternoon preschool.

County Government Day

On Monday, March 14, the Wauneta-Palisade senior class participated in County Government Day at the Hitchcock County Courthouse in Trenton. The day, hosted by the American Legion with the help of the Hitchcock County Courthouse staff, gave the students a hands-on look at how their local government works. North Platte Inter-high Day Results

On March 16, Mrs. Monnahan and 16 Wauneta-Palisade students travelled to MPCC in North Platte for the annual Inter-High Day Scholastic competition. This November, the Palisade Veterans of Foreign War ( VFW) sponsored the WP High School students in the annual Voice of Democracy essay contest. Elementary Celebrates Halloween

WP Elementary students spooked downtown Palisade on Thursday, October 29 when they paraded in their Halloween costumes. Local businesses gave out candy, and students entertained patrons as they showed off everything from fairy tutus to witch hats to Husker football players. Jostens rep

The Jostens representative is coming to W-P on Thursday, November 5. He will meet with seniors at 8:45 to discuss graduation, and he will meet with sophomores after that to sell them class rings.

No School on Friday

All Bronco fans should make plans to go to Cedar Rapids, Nebraska on Friday to cheer on the football team in the first round of playoffs! School is cancelled on Friday to allow people to attend the game. Kickoff versus Riverside High is at 3MT on Friday. Admittance to the game is $5 for adults and $4 for children. The game will be broadcast live at  http://striv.tv/channel/cedar-rapids/  and on radio station 103.9.  The Riverside Booster Club is serving grilled burgers and homemade fries at the game. Homecoming Festivities

The WP Homecoming Tailgate party is Thursday, October 15th at the Ag Shop in Wauneta. Festivites begin at 6 MT with a pulled pork sandwich meal, provided by the Bronco Boosters. Early Release October 16

School will be released at 1:06 on Friday, October 16th so students and staff can attend the Homecoming games versus Wilcox-Hildreth. We'll follow a shortened day schedule and buses will run accordingly. Kickoff of the football game is set for 2:00 MT and JV volleyball will start at 4:30 MT.
