National FFA Week at WP 2/21/22
February 21, 2022
Monday 2/21/22:
-The kids will wear their chapter T-Shirts.
-We have a district welding competition this day so 13 boys will be gone: Trace Bley, Colby Hoskovec, Wyatt McDaniel, Wyatt Muths, Aidan Kennicutt, Justin Warembourg, Grant Walker, Derik Kennicutt, Cody Holmes, Hunter Miner, Garrett Hanna, Sean Manley, and Trey McCrumb.
-We will also have Community Ag Speakers coming in to talk to the entire student body in the Wauneta building. They will talk about their careers in ag, their FFA experience, and how they coincide. This is to provide our students with the opportunity to speak to an industry professional about the impact FFA can have and to ask questions. We will run it similar to when the veterans came to speak with groups rotating from speaker to speaker. It will start right after lunch (12:41) and last until the beginning of 7th period. Tuesday 2/22/22:
-The theme is Cowboy.
-Dirtiest Vehicle Contest: The officers will be judging the parking lot to see who has the dirtiest vehicle. (We haven’t seen much moisture so this might be a bust!.. we’ll see how it goes)
Wednesday 2/23/22:
-FFA members will wear their official dress during the breakfast and they may change when they come to school for the day.
-We will have breakfast at the legion hall before school. It will start at 6mt. FFA members will come at 5mt to start cooking and to get everything set up. We will have pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, coffee, and juice. All community members are welcome. I will need a handful of FFA members to help clean up during 1st and possibly into 2nd period.
-We will also be doing a bake sale during the breakfast. There will be tables set up and FFA members running the tables. Each FFA member is to provide one baked good to sell.
Thursday 2/24/22:
-The theme is Hunter. They will bring out their camo. Please tell the elementary to dress warm on this day.
-Elementary Barnyard: Selected FFA members will be bringing animals from home to the elementary playground area. Each student will be teaching elementary students about their specific animal using posters they made themselves. Each elementary class will take turns rotating through the barnyard throughout the day. The list of FFA members bringing animals that will be gone from class this day include: Peyton Cox, Grant Walker, Mandy Sandoval, Garrett Hanna, Bri Sramek, Grayden Sutherland, Lilian Sandoval, GraCee Goings, Cali Cox, and Ryleigh McCrumb.
Friday 2/25/22:
-Theme is Farmer.
-Drive Your Tractor to School Day: If students have permission to do so from their parents, they will be driving their tractors to school.
-Contest Demonstrations with Junior High: Selected FFA members will be demonstrating chosen contests to the junior high students to show them what opportunities are available to them when they get into high school. The demonstrations will happen in the ag room and shop after lunch and will last until the beginning of 7th period.
