My name is Betsy Johanson. I'm originally from Palisade, Nebraska, and graduated from Wauneta-Palisade High School in 2006. I received my Bachelor's of Arts degree from Doane College in 2010 with majors in English and History and a secondary education endorsement. In 2012, I finished my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane, as well. I'm currently pursuing an endorsement in School Counseling from Chadron State College.

I have been married to my husband Nik for twelve years. He is a Natural Resource Specialist for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation out of McCook. We live east of Palisade with our two boys, Dane (9) and Max (7.)

I am our School Counselor at Wauneta-Palisade. The 2022-23 school year is my thirteenth year in education and my twelfth year at Wauneta-Palisade; I taught 7-12 English for one year at Maywood right after graduating from college, then taught English, Social Studies, and PE at Wauneta-Palisade in the junior high and high school. I am also the National Honor Society adviser and the Student Council's Faculty sponsor.
