My name is Betsy Johanson. I'm originally from Palisade, Nebraska, and graduated from Wauneta-Palisade High School in 2006. I received my Bachelor's of Arts degree from Doane College in 2010 with majors in English and History and a secondary education endorsement. In 2012, I finished my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane, as well. I also completed an endorsement in School Counseling from Chadron State College.

I am the K-12 School Counselor at Wauneta-Palisade. The 2023-2024 school year is my fourteenth year in education and my thirteenth year at Wauneta-Palisade; I taught English and Social Studies courses at WP, and 7-12 English for one year at Maywood right after graduating from college. I am also the National Honor Society adviser and the Student Council sponsor this year.
